Expatriate Sydney guitarist Carl Orr was a prominent figure in the Sydney scene from the 1970s until relocating to London in mid-1995. He had four albums as leader (on the Spiral Scratch and Rufus labels) and recordings with Wanderlust, Jackie Orszacky, and Dale Barlow. Having twice performed with U.S. drummer Billy Cobham in Australia (who played some of Orr’s compositions), Orr toured Europe with Cobham from 1996-2000 and in that context he performed with Randy Brecker, Ernie Watts, Gary Husband and George Duke. Since then he has been concentrating on his own music as well as working with many other artists. Orr, teaches guitar at Middlesex University, has 7 albums to his credit and is featured on CDs by Billy Cobham, Dale Barlow, Jackie Orszaczky and many others. He reunites with Darryn Farrugia, who was drummer in Orr’s band when he was based in London too. They will joined by Phil Turcio (keyboards) and Kim May (bass).
