Tenor saxophonist Dale Barlow is (alongside James Morrison) one of our few jazz artists with a real international profile, mainly stemming from his stint with Art Blakey�s Jazz Messengers in the 1980s (resulting in several albums, most featuring some of Barlow�s compositions). His reputation was further enhanced with recordings with American artists including the Cedar Walton Trio and Billy Cobham, as well as performances with Gil Evans� Orchestra and Chet Baker. He has toured extensively throughout Europe and Britain, as well as Asia, South Africa, and the U.S.A. Returning to Australia in the late 80s, he began recording an extensive catalogue of albums as a leader. He will collaborate with pianist Jex Saarelaht, bassist Philip Rex and drummer Sam Bates.

"The Other Side", Selenas latest offering, is a sublime collection of 12 songs written over the past 10 years. They are songs that have been waiting for the the right place, the right time, and the right people to see this collection take form.
The first thing you will notice when listening to these tracks is Selenas incredibly captivating voice closely followed by the melodies and lyrics that anyone would struggle to get out of their head. When you listen to the stories in these songs you are somehow left feeling like she is writing about you. Stories about the human condition that we all share going through life.

From her early musical beginnings practicing the piano at Nana Annies house to the thoughtful and emotive songs she writes and performs today, Selenas journey has had one destiny; to write songs, perform live and share these treasures with a global audience, and that she certainly has achieved.
