Before leaving to study for his Masters in New York last year, drummer Rajiv Jayaweera had been a mainstay of the Melbourne scene for several years, featured with ensembles such as Way Out West (with whom he toured internationally), Bennetts Lane Big Band, Bopstretch, and Joe Chindamo Trio.
On this brief visit he will be perform with Tim Wilson (alto saxophone), Hugh Stuckey (guitar) and Tom Lee (bass) for a night of friendly musical catch up and a chance to show us his new New York drum wares.
