Since graduating with a Bachelor of Music (jazz) at the West Australian Academy of Performing Arts, guitarist Matthew Fagan has performed and recorded in WA with many acts including The Hip Mo’ Toast big band, James Morrison and funk outfit The Roast. Having returned to his hometown of Melbourne, he is playing professionally in a number of ensembles, and now specialises in jazz, funk, and soul. Fagan has featured on studio recordings and toured nationally with Gary and Natasha Pinto, original big band ATM15, The Jenny Barnes Trio and Belinda Allchin's 'Beetet'. In addition to Fagan, this new ensemble features some great Melbourne talent in Carlo Barbaro (tenor saxophone), Darrin Archer (piano), Tamara Murphy (acoustic bass) and Sam Young (drums). Fagan's original material is augmented by compositions by Kurt Rosenwinkel, Dave Douglas, and Joe Henderson.
