Daniel Gassin, Yamaha feature artist and exemplary practitioner of the piano, opens his Yamaha feature artist series with his trio featuring Ben Robertson (bass) and Craig Simon (drums).

Together they will explore Daniel's original repertoire fllled with influences from both Europe (France in particular) and Australia, works by contemporary French and American composers, and standards that provide them the structure in which to thoroughly flex their improvisational muscles.

In 2007 Daniel Gassin was the sole Australian to reach the finals of the Bosendorfer Jazz Solo Piano Competition at the iconic Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland. 

In 2008 he was selected to participate in the Jazz & Creative Music Workshop in Banff, Canada.  In the same year, the Daniel Gassin Trio released its second album, "Crossover" recorded with Mal Stanley for ABC Jazztrack.

The Daniel Gassin Trio has toured extensively both nationally and internationally, including performances at the Dubai International Jazz Festival and the Queenstown International Jazz Festival in 2010.
