Focusing on collective improvisation, Motion's music unfolds with unexpected turns, textural improvisations and treads a line between simplicity and abstraction. The group has twice toured the east coast of Australia and has performed as part of the Melbourne International Jazz Festival, the TURA Totally Huge New Music Festival and the Melbourne Fringe Jazz Festival. With this performance they will be launching a new album (following their debut album Presence) and premiering some brand new material as well. The line-up of Andrew Brooks (alto and soprano saxophone), Berish Bilander (piano/keys), Hugh Harvey (drums) and Sam Zerna (bass) has been augmented by the addition of young guitarist 
Brett Thompson (who has moved here from Perth).
