This evening of solo piano features two distinctive Melbourne stylists and composers, together with the internationally recognised Sydney pianist/composer Mark Isaacs.

The youngest of the three, Howard has been honing his own voice through both his Trio and FGHR groups, as well as collaborations in Europe. He recently won the Bell Award for Jazz Composition of the Year, and recorded a new album in Norway.

Keevers' career over the past two decades has seen him move from Brisbane to Melbourne, with a stint in Sydney. His diverse interests saw him lead the long-running Los Carbrones Salsa group, MD for Vince Jones, Kate Ceberano, Katie Noonan and The Black Arm Band, as well as recording with Scott TInkler, Ian Chaplin and a beautifully melodic duo album, Grace, with Jamie Oehlers.

Isaacs' solo work has been a constant and on-going thread in his career since he first began solo concerts around 1980, and was well documented on the 1995 groundbreaking 4-CD set, The Elements (on ABC). Isaacs has performed solo improvised music concerts extensively around the world over the past two decades, and will mix free improvisations with renditions of heritage melodies of various kinds.

This promises to be a special evening in the intimate atmosphere of Bennetts Lane's smaller original room.
