This bass-less unit premiered in late 2006, brings together three distinctive stylists (and bandleaders) in emerging talent trombonist Shannon Barnett (2009 Bell winner of Young Artist of the Year), and the experienced duo of drummer Allan Browne and under-exposed pianist Jex Saarelaht. Barnett's profile has increased enormously through her work with Barney McAll's Mother of Dreams and Secrets, the Australian Art Orchestra, Murphy's Law, and the Andrea Keller Sextet. With Barnett studying in the U.S. since last year, the group has not performed for two years. They have a broad stylistic palette, including originals from all members.
