The John Montesante Quintet (JMQ) is a stylish, horn-led combo, founded in 1991 by jazz trumpet, arranger, composer John Montesante. The band members include Scott Lambie, Dean Addison, Joe Ruberto, James Glasson and Montesante. TheJMQ regularly appears at venues, festivals, functions and major events, and the band has sustained a weekly jazz residency in Melbourne, showcasing the finest talents around, since 2004. The quintet's previous album, "JMQ-Live @Atlantis" garnered positive reviews, with the final track, Tell Me A Bedtime Story, augmented by additional horns, creating: "a brassy blaster that inspires a desire to catch the band at one of its 'live' gigs around the traps..."(Jazz Scene). 

Widely reputed for his horn arranging, John Montesante has continued to engage the "augmented" horn line-up for all the tracks on the new album, being launched at Bennetts Lane with a full concert performance. Three of Australia's stellar jazz singers: Elly Hoyt, Trent White & Fem Belling are the featured vocalists on the album and they shall reprise their tracks at the launch, along with the regular JMQ combo and all the guest musicians. This will be a spectacular album launch, comprising familiar and less widely known jazz tracks, performed by some of the finest talents Melbourne has to offer.
