Hot, brassy and explosive, Flap! perform music that has been described as both old and new. A rambunctious collage of 1920's jazz, English folk, gypsy brass and Trinidadian calypso influences. The end result is something fresh and distinctly Australian.
Led by Eamon McNelis (cornet, vocals) and Jess Guille (banjo-ukulele, vocals), accompanied by Mark Elton (double bass), Ben Hendry (drums, percussion) and Donald Stewart (trombone), Flap! are individually gifted musicians in their own right, they join together to create something musically uncompromising, lyrically stimulating, visually uplifting and overall exuberant.
Recently returned from a stellar European jaunt launching their long awaited second album 'A Great Day For The Race', Flap! are back on home turf in Melbourne gearing up for another year of fun.
