Think pop melodies, rich harmonies of Motown, with dark soulful beats mixed with a powerful jazz inspired husky vocals and that's the sound of one Miss Rita Satch.
Fresh off her recent tour in Paris, Rita Satch returns to Bennetts Lane for a very special intimate show with her full band.
Widely known for her soulful and seductive live performances, Rita Satch has fast developed a reputation as an unforgettable presence in Melbourne and Sydney's growing neo-soul movement.
A jazz and soul prodigy from a young age, Rita grew up loving and singing the music of Ella Fitzgerald, Ray Charles and Nina Simone. Rita's inimitable and powerful voice soon garnered her the attention of some of Australia's most acclaimed musicians, singing with Australian jazz greats such as Allan Zavod and Mark Fitzgibbon, who would go on to call Rita "the best singer songwriter to hit the scene in a long time."
With the release of her debut EP Awoken in 2011, Rita thrived as the new jazz singer and chanteuse, cutting her teeth in the Melbourne scene supporting the likes of Australian legends Renee Geyer, Kate Ceberano and Christine Anu, amongst others.
Her recent self-titled EP release has seen Satch play a sell-out EP Launch tour in Melbourne and Sydney, with her songs receiving ongoing airplay on Triple J, PBS, Triple R and other community radio stations nationwide.
She will be joined by her band Gideon Preiss (Husky), Lucas Taranto (Gotye), Jeremy Badcock & Marco Cascarino.
